Piazza della Repubblica, heart of historic center of Florence
One of the most beautiful and ancient squares in Florence is the backdrop to our Wine Bar Restaurant. Also known as the Piazza delle Giostra, this square enchants with its beauty. But there are several curiosities to tell about her.
Vineria del Re pays tribute to Piazza della Repubblica, once Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II or Piazza del Re.

1894
Born as a Literary Restaurant and Café in what was Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II, today Piazza della Repubblica. At that time it was positioned & nbsp; at the corner between Via Pellicceria and Piazza Vittorio Emanuele. & Nbsp; In short it becomes one of the main places in Florence. Immediately it stands out for the beauty of the environments and the careful selection of wine.
1953
In 1953, as a testimony of its prestige, the famous architect Giovanni Michelucci, (architect in 1935 of the central station of Florence), was selected to renovate the restaurant. Unfortunately, the magnificent construction was destroyed during the 1966 flood.
2019
In 2019 it is renewed and becomes Vineria del Re, where the ancient tradition of winemaking comes to life again. A Wine Bar that has followed the transformations of Florence and wants to offer only the best Italian wine and food to Florentines and tourists.
